If you ever become a capitalist and go into business, you will have to download this chart religiously on a weekly basis to figure out what the hell is going ...

Re: Dish shuts down cable company in Belize

lol! I would imagine it's a different person. He started his cable company in 1992 and had over 5,000 customers based on what I read. He probably rebroadcast a couple of Dish channels that he couldn't get licensed for on C band (some programmers demand millions of viewers or no deal, just ask Rainie...

Is Pay TV inflation starting to get out of control? Is Dish bankruptcy imminent?

More price hikes in the pay TV world. -30% increase at YouTube TV -$10 increase on all DirecTV Packages Although I didn't find any stories about Dish/Sling raising prices, I found something far worse. It seems they are maxing out a new $1 billion USD credit card to pay off another. It sounds like a ...

Customers sue DirecTV over high prices

It's starting folks. All those trillions being printed by your Federal Reserve Bank are causing prices to rise, including pay TV prices. DirecTV is doubling their monthly rates on subscribers and people don't like it, so they are suing them: https://legalnewsline.com/stories/540078674-directv-accuse...

Re: C/n on 91w

It will vary based on how much power is being transmitted, the method used to encode the information being broadcast and your location. That being said, for DVB-S FEC = 3/4 signals, you need a bare minimum of 5.5 dB C/N ratio to lock. For DVB-S2 FEC=5/6 signals, you need a bare minimum of 9.4 dB C/N...

Foxcreek,

Please stop harassing our members in the shoutbox. If you want to post something useful about C band satellite, please do so. However, as you were warned last time, please don't ask for satellite keys or engage in hack talk because it is not allowed in this forum.

Thanks.

Re: C-Band is doom... FAST

The satellite operators (e.g. SES, Intelsat, Eutelsat, Telesat, etc.) are being paid billions of dollars by the FCC to move their lower C band transmissions (3.7 - 3.95 GHz) to the upper C band spectrum (4.0 - 4.2 GHz). They are hardly going away. Wouldn't you take several billion dollars from the F...
