Re: ABC migrating to HEVC today

Both ABC transponders have now migrated to 4.2.2. You will need a PC card with hardware acceleration to view the mux without stuttering.

Re: Retro TV and others on Atlantic Ku

According to Lyngsat 65W only has C band. Does not have Ku. Lyngsat isn't always up to date, especially when it comes to South American satellite broadcasts. Another site I like to check is portaleds.com That site confirms the new mux. I am surprised the footprint reaches into the USA...will have t...

ABC migrating to HEVC today

Just a heads up if you lose the ABC feeds on Galaxy 16 (99W) and 3C (95W). If they go HEVC 4.2.2, then everyone will lose them. If they go to plain HEVC 4.2.0, most consumer stbs that support the HEVC codec will still decode them. Heck, they may even stay MPEG-4 for a while longer if all their affil...

A shroud is just a metallic cylinder with the same diameter as your dish. You just pop it over the dish and you're done. Are you serious? Hehe... Re: Finding more satellites.

You'll need a VHF antenna for that project. Here is a tutorial:

I'm pretty sure NOAA is transmitting from another geostationary satellite after being bumped from 103w. Someone out there must know.

Re: Weather Channel is showing color bars

The channel on 131W is the US Weather Channel. He is talking about the Canadian Weather Network on AnikF1R (107.3W). The SD versions of this channel are still active but the HD version has been removed from the mux. It may have been a temporary feed or they moved it elsewhere. AnikF1R is being retir...
