Re: Video - Diginets - Digital subchannel - Over the air FREE TV

Perhaps an over sight by Tek, but the H7 can't. So I paid for a receiver with an extra tuner that is useless other devices have no problems with. The tuner is not useless. It receives OTA terrestrial signals just fine. The ZGemma H7 was advertised as a 4K DVB-S2 satellite receiver with ATSC tuner. ...

Re: Video - Diginets - Digital subchannel - Over the air FREE TV

That would have been fine. I guess the whole concept of my feeble thinking is that if anyone bought a tuner today for the USA today, it should perform equally well on an antenna and cable tv. Because that is exactly how the Sony's and Sanyo TV's work here. As well as the Silicondust HDHomerun. Perha...

Re: Video - Diginets - Digital subchannel - Over the air FREE TV

Diginets. That's the catch phrase I've been looking for. As per my post in another section I have diginets that my cable provider has ITC. Channels read 23.29, 23.621, 24.10, 24.13, 26.60, 26.622, and so on on my TV's and HDHomerun tuner. Also as I mentioned I don't have any OTA channels is my area ...

Re: C Band Blindscanning Tips Request.

Remember I get actually about 104 channels with 70 or so ITC. Which cable company and are you getting premium channels? I'd rather not say. But every bar and restaurant here also gains from the perk of subscribing to Internet. I'm not getting any premium channels. Locals, PBS, and many others can b...

Re: C Band Blindscanning Tips Request.

@supwiddiss, Even though I know I receive 256QAM signals, I tried scanning with all three tuner C configuration options for ATSC provider (modulation type) and didn't find any. I work for the local cable TV company and know that I have good forward RF levels in my house. Receiver: Zgemma H7.AC Imag...

Re: C Band Blindscanning Tips Request.

Well the cat is out of the bag. The H7 has deficiencies that are only revealed once you get over the c-band reception learning curve. Unfortunately, that's about the time the warranty and return policy ran out. Right? Looks like Broadcom released the chipset along with pre packaged .ko kernel module...

Re: C Band Blindscanning Tips Request.

12 hours into a complete blindscan and 50% done with 0 channels so far, still on 4 digit SR's I got wondering. Anybody? If you are using openATV to scan, the firmware treats 'DVB-S' and 'DVB-S2' as different standards. So if there is a 'DVB-S2' feed with a certain SR and your xml file contains this...

Re: C-band affected by weather

Yes. To say impervious is misleading. For example on 131W when there was a blizzard the other day I lost 3-5dB signal.
Went out and swept the dish off and gained a dB. Looked up to 50W and signal was close to what it should be.
Head ends and news broadcasters have huge dishes. Go figure.
