Re: Playboy channel on Rainier

Comcast has nothing to do with who gets what, that's bunk. Rainier will continue to add channels including cable networks many want. They will be announced at the Rainier website as added just as the channels they now have were. The 4D DC-2 platform was doomed because Arris (Motorola in disguise) wa...

Re: Playboy channel on Rainier

Some folk around here keep trying to spread a rumor that the programmers are saying no. If that were the case the subscribers of Rainier would not currently be watching subscription content such as Playboy. Every time Rainier launches more content they prove these folk wrong so why continue this cha...

Re: Playboy channel on Rainier

DC-2 used now on many feeds is an overlay just like PowerVu. If you take away the CA encryption its an ITC DVB-S S2 signal. The old legacy Digicipher like the 4D used is dying off fast. Piracy has never done anything good wherever it rears its ugly head. Some think they may be beating the system for...

Re: Viacom channels going bye-bye

A lot of cable networks have switched gears and changed names lately. TV Land was the original Classic TV network. MeTV and others are now exploiting this format. Word has been out there Weigel will be pulling Me off satellite for delivery. Will it happen? who knows if and when. Weigel's other chann...

Re: Playboy channel on Rainier

There are more CA supported than the manual says. Don't believe me wait and see. :eek2

Why all the interest in Rainier's CA methods? Are you guys trying to gather intel for the dark side or what? It appears Cisco slapped those boys as of late again. :goody

Re: Playboy channel on Rainier

Rainier knows all about BET changing over. I never said anyplace here the 9865 was able to decode DC-2 on its own. The cam can decode approx 8 CA systems. Due to being under NDA I'm not at liberty to go into this any deeper.

Re: Playboy channel on Rainier

Arris is loosing the game as more channels are moving to different encryption methods including PV. If a simulcrypt is in PV why would you need the cam in the first place with the 9865? Sounds like your thinking along the lines the 9865 is the same as a FTA style receiver using a card reader pair fr...

Re: Playboy channel on Rainier

Like to see how well your streaming works in rural America where they may be lucky enough to have a 28.8k dial up connection.

Funny how those pushing streaming never tell you the downside of the tall $$$$$$ monthly over bandwidth bills. Hey but that's the plan of these mega ISP giants.

Re: Playboy channel on Rainier

Jess if your thinking that it is going to change like it is in Europe with many different FTA receivers able to grab a card and subscribe that is not going to be the case. Rules and licensing agreements differ here regarding CA providers and programmers.
