Re: Modifying a stationary DirecTV dish.

Thank you Dishcrank and William, Very useful information. I will remove the DirecTV dish and replace it with a 48 inch reflector that has rods for an offset lnb (focus point). Can I assume that an offset lnb will be better than modifying this dish to use a prime focus Ku lnb? offset-dish.png Thank y...

Modifying a stationary DirecTV dish.

Hello, There is a stationary DirecTV dish we no longer use on our roof. DirecTV never picked it up, so I would like to swap out the lnb(s) with Ku lnbs that will pass on FTA signals to a receiver. The dish's lnbs point at 99W, 101W and 103W. I am most interested in 103W. Any suggestions as to what l...

135W is a little east of 133W. Nice.

Hello, While twaddling around with our receiver this morning, I could not help but notice that 135W appears to be a little bit east of 133W. A blind scan returns about 33 channels but there may be more as there are a lot of trees in the way. Also none of the transponders appear to be ITC, AFAICT. 13...

Thank you,

Very useful information. Back to trimming I go, and also time to deploy the Ku dish.

Many thanks,

Transponders up or down?

Hello, Some of the C band transponders on 87W have increased in SNR since I trimmed some trees. However the two Ku transponders I am interested in are still blowing 0.0 SNR: 11811 H, DVB-S2, 8PSK, 11150-3/5 and 11960 H, DVB-S, QPSK, 29270-3/4 . I just wanted to make sure these two are up and running...

Re: Is this transponder still there?

Hello, Thank you for this extremely useful information. I am able to get some of the transponders in at 12.00 SNR or higher. So tree growth took the signal strength from 12.0 to 0.0 in about one week. I love trees, but I am going to trim them. Sounds like fun. Deploying the rope saw, :-) belter-one

Is this transponder still there?

Hello, A blind scan of 103W for Ku transponders yields a lot of transponders, but not the ones I am looking for. Especially: 12144 V DVB-S QPSK 20000-3/4 This transponder carries among other channels NHK World. Is this transponder still up and running? Any information on this will be greatly appreci...
