Re: It's worth it
You can order one of their ground mount poles which is what I did and is visible in the picture on top of the thread. It’s a 7’ or 8’ pole which you bury in a foot of concrete and gets the dish well off the ground or you can homebrew something if you have a pole or wood post to mount it to. Don’t kn...

Built in heater which you can set to automatic or manual. Does a good job but the snow melt turns to ice at the lower lip of the dish which has to be broken loose occasionally.

Re: It's worth it
Round dish is first generation and is the type I have. The rectangular dish is second generation. AFAIK there is no difference in performance. Starlink isn't affected quite as bad with rain fade as normal KU/KA band satellite TV. I think the difference is that the Starlink satellites are in low eart...

It's worth it
www.bigbaywx.com/upload/starlink.jpg I have had mine for over two years now and it left my former Hughesnet and Viasat performance in the dust. My cost when it just rolled out was $599 for the equipment and I pay $90 a month as I am in an underutilized cell area. There is a theoretic data cap if 1T...

Re: Seeking Guidance on Free-to-Air Satellite Receivers and Encrypted Channels
The OSmio plus along with some others run the Linux operating system which is open source. Being open source there are many different software images for the receivers. They come from the factory with OpenATV but there are many different flavors available; https://www.enigma2.net/category/images/edi...

Re: Seeking Guidance on Free-to-Air Satellite Receivers and Encrypted Channels
I will add that I did buy one of those cheap Chicom boxes (not that model) as I read that it supported native 4:2:2 video that some of the networks and wildfeeds use. The only other FTA boxes that would do that was an old Azbox I believe that hasn’t been made in years and only rarely available for s...

Re: Seeking Guidance on Free-to-Air Satellite Receivers and Encrypted Channels
It’s a hack box and we don’t discuss those here. These are cheap Chinese receivers and mostly run an android operating system. They tend to be buggy with frequent reboots required and really don’t do a very good job at all with FTA purposes. Not to mention even if you are trying to save some money a...

Re: Dish sues exercise equipment company over streaming infringement
That is all they have left is to sue people. Their market has evaporated between the tanking economy and streaming services, and the only solution they have is raising prices while reducing content.

Make me. That play worked the first time, not sure how well it would work the second time around. More people are catching on to the scam.
