Not necessarily...in order to track both sides of the arc, you need to be pointed exactly due south. If you are off by a few degrees, you may only see one side of the arc. But this is easy to fix. If you see 87W - 107W as in your case, but don't see anything between say 43W-58W, then move the dish mount slightly towards the 43W-58W side of the arc. You would do the opposite if you the scenario was reversed.

Remember, the due south setting determines symmetry of the arc. In other words, if you are off, you won't be able to track the arc symmetrically on both sides.

Don't mess with the elevation angle too much. Once you set it, it pretty much stays the same. The only other parameter you will have to play with is declination angle to peak the satellites low in the arc.

After you install one C band dish that tracks the arc, it becomes second nature after that... :fencing

Fatso gave you good advise. Locate "true south" with your dish at the high piont of the swing. Set your elevation for your location, and find a sat. Check both ends of the arc. Use the dec. adjustment to change the "shape' of your dish travel to match the arc. I your travel is to "flat", you need to raise the dec. and lower the elev. If yourtravel is "egg"shape, then you need to lower the dec. and raise the ele. Hope this helps. Jess out in California
