SG2100 HH motor installation on 100cm Fortec KU

Post by internetprofiles1 » Fri Apr 24, 2015 12:07 pm

I'm about to turn my stationary 100cm fortec to motorized system, the motor arrives soon. An HH motor SG2100 by Moteck. I've reviewed various installation guides but my dish does not have the specialized mounting hole for the motor I seen some installations have. So I was thinking the only way I could do it to properly align is upside down(pole facing up)...Then I wondered how the original sales people got it from Sadoun would install it, thinking maybe they had an attachment I needed to buy, but low and behold I found a picture from them and they installed the motor upside down (facing up). They don't sell this dish anymore but I was able to pull it up with google. Look at link below and can someone tell me how did they calculate the angles from this setup???? Not trying to promote the website but this is the only pics I could find of the install.

What specialized holes are you referring to?

Its ok, some smaller ku dishes have a slot for the hh motor shaft. But I got this figured out, I made a minor modification to the bracket by cutting out the notch to the top of the existing bracket and was able to attach the motor to the dish right side up. I got it aligned to the arc picking up several ku sats so far, just need minor tuning and trying to figure out how to add sats I may be missing. I plan to get maybe an azbox and turn this to a C-band on small dish project.
