139 W, but it is spot beamed. Most of the west coast still sees it.

Interesting,

I used to get this satellite, but it is gone for me, at 139W 4056 H 13250 is at 0.0 for me. Any other transponders active? Is it DVB-S2 or DVB-S? Any additional information would be helpful and appreciated.

Cheers,

This is the only transponder ITC. Are you on the west coast? This lone transponder is a spot beam.

Hi norman881,

Thank you for the reply. I am in the pacific northwest, latitude circa 44, longitude circa 124. I have never heard of a spot beam transponder. Should I offer it money? :biggrin Alaska abc, cbs, nbc sound great to me.

Cheers,

Greetings,

Dish & Direct have used spot beams for local channels ever since they started offering locals. The US Military was using spot beam signals in the 1980's. (when I was US Army Satcom) You are 6 degrees west of me so you should get the signal. I was seeing a signal strength of 86 on my Linkbox 9000i this morning. I am at work now, but I will check again and report back when I get home.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

1743 PST - I'm getting 84 signal strength. I see CBS but not ABC or NBC. There are 8 channels on this transponder.

Please let me know any additional information that you would like.

Hi norman881,

Thank you for your service, Sir, and for the information. Very useful. I will site survey and see if there is a tree limb or two in the way.

Cheers,

belter-one

Well I know around 1997. Direct TV was not using spot beams. That was when my friends had those cards authorized for everything they had. And all the local stations from all over the country came in.
