SMDH,
I was looking forward to tuning in NOAA on 101 W, as we are having some dangerous trees removed that would have made this possible. Does anyone know if they are moving to a different satellite? The Satelliteguys had a post saying as much, with a URL that is now a dead link. Perhaps the current climate change denying regime in the White House is gutting NOAA? I will attempt to find out more, and post it here.
OMG,

NOAA removed from 101 W.

Re: NOAA removed from 101 W.
Hello,
Can anyone check and see if the following transponder is still active for NOAA:
C-Band Service
Satellite: G-28 (Galaxy -28)
Orbital Location: 89° West
Transponder: CH117/CV117 36MHz C-band
Downlink Polarization (from G28 to remote receive only sites): Vertical
Transponder Downlink Center Frequency: 4040MHz
Not sure about the symbol rate here. Is it 3600 or something else? Any help would be appreciated.
Still looking,

I tried SR of 30000 and it was a no go. Someone with a spectrum analyzer should check to see if there is anything here. Satsignature is a pay service now.

Thank you,
Dishcrank, for checking this out. I just called NOAA and sent out an email and will post whatever information, if any, I get in return, here.
Cheers,

P.S. How much does a spectrum analyzer cost and is it run in a PC or as a standalone piece of hardware?
