Re: Dish shuts down cable company in Belize
lol!
I would imagine it's a different person. He started his cable company in 1992 and had over 5,000 customers based on what I read. He probably rebroadcast a couple of Dish channels that he couldn't get licensed for on C band (some programmers demand millions of viewers or no deal, just ask Rainier with their 3 channel lineup ) and now Dish is attempting to ruin his company.
This isn't right. Lawmakers need to amend U.S. Code 605 to prevent a company like Dish from abusing the law, even if the allegations are true. Programmers will also be losing revenue from 5,000 paying customers. Something to think about. Dish refuses to fix their piracy problem and files hundreds of lawsuits instead. Why aren't programmers cracking down on them by enforcing contract rights?
If you are on the receiving end of one of these lawsuits, you should probably defend it. It appears that Dish is close to bankruptcy, based on how much money they have to borrow in order to survive:

With nearly 50% unemployment, a collapse in pay TV subscribers and 5G being dead on arrival due to the economic Depression now unfolding in the USA, I don't see how Dish will make it to the end of 2020, without going bankrupt.

Re: Dish shuts down cable company in Belize
Dish is acting like GI back in the old c band days. GI was even worse cause they jailed a bunch of people in addition to filing civil lawsuits. Bob Cooper got served for publishing his satellite magazine but wasn't involved in piracy. Even though he was based in Providenciales and outside the usa he was forced to end publication of his very popular magazine which I looked forward to reading every single month. Many other dealers were shut down for selling video cipher piracy devices, including charlie ergen and jim defranco. Those sure were exciting times to be in c band satellite but after the crackdowns the sun finally set on the industry.

Who lends Dish Network a billion in unsecured credit when all their content is being ripped to shreds?

Most streaming services are down or channels limited for several weeks now. They must have done something.....Guest wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2020 4:15 pmWho lends Dish Network a billion in unsecured credit when all their content is being ripped to shreds?

DirecTV is sending out new access cards. Probably to kill streaming piracy.
