Audio sound question.

Post by belter-one » Sat Jul 06, 2019 3:18 pm

Hello,

On 105W:

3780H
DVB-S2
8PSK
30000

On the NBC Feeds, certain programs, i.e. their Nightly news, the audio content is not mixed properly? The voice is missing, the background theme is very loud in comparison with the voice audio (when it starts playing). I have looked at the data file and there appears to be 4 different audio tracks. I have tried to adjust the sound settings on our "smart TV", to no avail. Is there a transponder setting that needs to be edited, or something else to be done to normalize the audio for this outstanding transponder? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I will attempt to remix the file, but that will be a slow process, as I am a novice. Sounds like fun. :-)

Cheers,

belter-one

You need to select Audio Track # 4 MPEG aag/aah. Also,

AC3 downmix = on
DTS downmix = on
Audio Channel = stereo

I find those settings work perfectly for all NBC programs including commercials. The other audio settings are probably for the local affiliates and have different purposes I presume.

Hi dishcrank,

Thank you! That worked perfectly. Once I found the Audio button on the ZGemma remote, and not the audio settings from the Setup menu, all was well.

Very much appreciated,
