fox movies on 133west

Post by william » Mon Dec 30, 2019 4:52 am

hello all. i joined tvro specifically to ask questions about fta.
i was watching a fox movie on 133w 3880 H 31250 and the transponder was turned off.
tvro still has it in the recent satellite lists. i checked many times, over many days, and the transponder is off.
does anyone know what happened?

It comes and goes. Fox is probably testing something new for 2020!

Fox Movies tends to be in FP mode a lot. MGM too. HBO too. Quite a few, actually, but you need a dsr-6000 to watch because an FTA receiver cannot decode the digicipher standard. Search ebay for a "dsr-6000". They are commercial rack mount receivers and not really intended for the living room. However, you can stick it in the basement where no one will see it and connect it to your local Ethernet. You need 2 ether connections (one for control and the other for streaming). Use an enigma 2 FTA receiver like the zgemma, octagon or edision and just stream those channels from the dsr-6000. To add streaming channels to your enigma 2, just follow this tutorial:

viewtopic.php?f=245&t=4906

Assign the ip address of your dsr-6000 and you are done. You can change channels by remotely logging in to the dsr-6000. It is like having a cable company in your basement.

my fta knowledge and tech is very limited. i don't know what FP means. i have no idea how to hack scrambled tv, nor would i risk the illegalities of that.
i have 1 30" ku on 125w and 3 dish or direct dishes on 87w,97w and 103w. a 10ft c band mesh. a edision osmio 4k and a samsung 43" 4k. the edision is a can of worms, i can barely use.

It is NOT a hack. Digicipher is a just a different satellite transmission standard (compared to DVB/S/S2/SX) along with proprietary encryption. You can legally receive and view unencrypted digicipher satellite signals if you own Motorola/Arris hardware. Of course, the providers using the Digicipher standard do encrypt their content too. When encrypted, only authorized Motorola/Arris commercial receivers can descramble the content. This is known as MP mode. When unencrypted, any unauthorized Motorola/Arris commercial receiver will decode the content. This is known as FP mode.

This site doesn't discuss 4DTV/Motorola stuff much, so I suggest if you want to learn more, visit Rick's Satellite:

To find out what is currently in FP mode, check out this excellent site:

Will the GI DSR 920 work for these, this one was used to get the Comcast programming subscription from several years ago?

That is an old machine. It won' t receive much. Most of us have a DSR-6000 or DSR-6050. They can handle both the 4DTV standard and DVB-S2 as well as the higher symbol rates.

They are only a couple hundred bucks on ebay. Well worth the money if you ask me. This evening for example, the entire suite of HBO programming is in free preview mode on 125w and 133w.

We have opened a DCII forum.

viewforum.php?f=288

If a feed is unscrambled and uses the DCII standard, you can post it in our new forum.
