What is this for? My finger is pointing at it.

Hard to tell as it’s been a few years since I did my set up. I think that may be the lock down bar to use when you lock down to a single satellite as opposed to the standard motorized polar mount.
10' Tek C-band dish, 1.2 meter KU band dish, ASC1 mover, Octagon/Zgemma/Edison dual band STB's. Running OpenPli on all.

I was asking because it doesn't show it in the frame setup section at viewtopic.php?f=146&t=1252 and there are several around the back of the ring.

Also, I have some metallic pieces that I have no idea what it is for and aren't shown in the above reference either. And it'll be real interesting trying to get the round center plate (2 pieces of round plate) on this thing too.

It is for attaching the 8 steel rear panel braces!

Only the 12' and larger antennas have brace support. The purpose is to prevent deformation of the reflector under high wind and snow loads.

Thanks for that info. I didn't see that info at viewtopic.php?f=146&t=1252

Now for my next question. I have 2 pieces of angle iron that came with my package and I don't know what they are for. They have a hole on one end and 2 holes on the other end.

And my next question is: what are these large bolt holes on the mount for? And what is the bracket for?

Extra support for the dish arm. Once you get the elevation correct, use some bolts to stabilize the dish arm near the top. As for the other piece of iron, I think it is for an elevation actuator which I never used. I could be wrong, but I think that was the purpose. It bolts in the same place as the actuator iron plate.

Thanks. I was thinking that the bolt holes in the mount might have been for pole support.

I was wondering if I have to reshape the ends of the feed support struts. Looks like I need to do that for mine. And I don't know which of the pre-drilled holes I need to attach the struts to.

Yes, but the procedure is very simple. Use a pair of pliers and bend each end about 45 degrees, but in the opposite direction. The strut end with the 2 holes bolts to the scalar ring, while the strut end with a single hold bolts onto the reflector surface. Make sure your scalar ring is centered and the LNB or LNBF throat protrudes about half an inch into the scalar ring. The focal length of the 12' dish is about 52.5". You need to measure from the LNB or LNBF throat to the center disc. If you measure from the scalar ring to the center dish, it will be 53". Good luck! :okay
