Re: Discovery Mux is Clear on 43.1W
I think I have the next door tree blocking the signal on that one! I can get the CB Channel. (Nothing to do with CB Radio's) But that is the only transponders I can lock. I don't point my But much past 55west.
I can get the DVBs but not the DVB S2 on that bird!

Will be hard to lock with anything smaller than a 10 footer. Discovery mux and now ESPN mux are both in the clear on 43.1W and 40.5W respectively. You need a dielectic plate for 40.5W.

Isn't that Discovery channel etc Spanish and different than the US programming?

Re: Discovery Mux is Clear on 43.1W
Most of the programming on the Latin American birds have English, Spanish and even Portuguese audio tracks. Check your remote and receiver because you should be able to select the audio track. For the Discovery mux, I am watching everything in English. It is pretty much the same programming as the USA but on a different schedule. Same with all the other transponders like History, HBO, Fox and so on. All this programming is made in the USA and then transmitted to different cable companies around the world via C band. Here in Canada I think they brand these channels Discovery Canada, History Canada, Fox Canada and so on, but it is really US content. Whenever they go itc, you can select the English audio to watch them.
Some C Band guys don't bother tracking the eastern arc between 30W - 58W because they think it isn't worth it. But in reality, all the American programming from 91W - 133W is duplicated and re-transmitted on the other side of the arc for Latin America and Western Europe. Well worth the effort to track both sides of the arc so you access to everything because you never know where something new will pop up.

Re: Discovery Mux is Clear on 43.1W
Thank you. I m currently in the market for a new receiver. Last week a storm took my receiver out. A month earlier a storm took out a HDMI port on my TV that the receiver was connected to. So I am also going to be looking for some sort of surge protector for a coax cable.
