Re: African c band channels on Eutelsat 8W
I can't say for sure, but I would think all those transponders on that bird are pointed to the continent of Africa and Europe.Maybe someone on the east coast with a view of it can give it a try.I am to far inland to try.Good luck

I scanned the signal with the Edison and it is there, but I suppose you would need something else besides a receiver to see anything. No channels scanned in.

Re: Can no longer receive France 24 on a 6' Dish
I checked the signal level on a 2.4m(8footer)and the CNR was around 12db.This dish is in no way optimum in performance, but maybe with a signal meter and some tweaking ,you could squeeze that signal you desire from that 1.8m(6footer).

Re: Signal and colder weather
There could be a number of reasons for that including ground noise, but I would think a lnb?Is it on both H/V channels and what kind of lnb do you have?

Re: Actuator shaft lubrication questions.
I have a 24" Venture and all I did was smear white lithium grease on the shaft and put a accordian boot on it for added protection.

Re: Satellite Reception trouble shooting
Are receiving any signal quality on the mentioned transponders you were getting before? What kind of feedhorn/lnb combination do you have? The dish may have turned on the pole ever so slightly, which can throw off reception quite abit!
