Re: How Well will Pam Cooking Spray Keep Snow Off a Satellite Dish

Bio oil based no stick products will turn rancid in the summer heat. Have had to deal with several customer dishes caked with Pam, dust and dead insects. Absolutely nasty to work on. Insects are attracted by the rancid oil stench and died, stuck to the tacky surface along with blowing dust, pollen, ...

Re: Recommended Dish installation procedure (from Tek2000)

Sorry to have stepped into a situation, where I have provided your customers with information or assistance on using a product, which I do not distribute. I have helped many folks with Tek2000 dish assembly and installation questions primarily because they were integrating with my Titanium Satellite...

Re: Titanium ASC1 being discontinued

I have 2 of your ASC1 units which are giving me problems. You will not help me out just because I am a C band subscriber to Rainier. Ok??? I was confused by the usage of present vs past tense. Seems like your posts were more about your issues with Brian than the ASC1... :) Great chatting with you D...

Re: Titanium ASC1 being discontinued

Have you considered doing the assembly in the USA? You'd need a pick-and-place machine and reflow oven. Parts could be sourced locally and PCB too. Isn't this the point of Trump's tariffs? Yes, the build has been submitted to bid with several shops in the US. Even with major changes with goals to r...

Re: Titanium ASC1 being discontinued

Dan, You know that I have never refused to help you because you have a Rainier system. That is pure hogwash. Feel free to share any communication that we have had where I indicated this. If you assumed this was the case, you are incorrect! I have helped Bob with Rainier, several Cisco IRD owners and...

Re: Titanium ASC1 being discontinued

Thank you to the members who support the niche products and all resellers that support our FTA hobby. The ASC1 has been a great seller over the past five years, but as was pointed out, the product cost was at the upper end of the range for most hobbyists. The cost to produce another batch was too hi...

Re: Positioner set up success. Signal Feed question.

It is necessary to use a switch to select between feeds. The insertion loss of a 22KHz or DiSEqC switch is negligible with typical high gain LNBs, average coax run lengths and factored into line and fitting losses. It would be quite easy to increase the signal amplitude by simply shortening the feed...

Re: REELZ on 127W

As long as the feedhorn fits into the scalar, it wouldn't matter if the original or the included scalar is used. I don't understand. Is the FD ratio AND the Focal length both set to the calculated positions? Or are you not able to set the settings due to the buttonhook length or current scalar? Sinc...

Re: REELZ on 127W

Now let me dumb this down to what I think you mean here. Mount the LNBF into the scaler ring with the throat opening extended a 1/4 inch out of the scaler ring. The distance from the center of the dish to the scaler ring should be approx 37.5 inches. I currently have that 36 inches. I will check my...

Re: REELZ on 127W

Good news! It doesn't matter if calculating the FL and FD in inches, centimeters or millimeters, just stay consistent. Make sure that your dish diameter is measured from edge to edge of the parabola. Some dishes have a very wide lip and measuring to the outside edge could change the calculations. Fo...
