I just finished restoring a polar mount and was thinking if it's possible to replace the steel washers with nylon? The polar mount is attached to an arm that allows the polar mount to swing left to right. It is here I was wondering...

Is a satellite dish measured correctly straight across the dish and not accounting for the dip in surface area, or do you measure the distance from point 'A' to 'B' to include the area within the dip?
