Ku LNBF on prime 10' dish

Post by JKL » Sat Apr 04, 2020 9:00 pm

Anyone has a hint or Idea of some sort if I'm better off using a FTA 30" LNBF on a DIY bracket aside a H &V C-band LNBF pointing in-worth to the center?

This instead of my Chiner dual band dual polarity beige LNBF?

I'm told here that the illumination of the Ku antennas at the back of the horn where the Ku antenna are located are greatly reduce.
This by the surface of the 10' dish it "sees".

Old motor polarized dual band horns have a different designed single antenna not impaired by its location in the horn.

In short and as described, I wonder is an hack job is not better then a chinease compromise design?
