Hello,
I have a 24 inch actuator arm that may be used eventually for a 4 foot C/Ku band offset dish. If the 36 inch actuator moving our 10 foot dish dies eventually, can this 24 inch actuator be used? Both were purchased from tek2000. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Spring is on its way,

Is a 24" actuator arm sufficient for a 10' mesh dish?

No problem at all. You won't get as much of the arc coverage but unless your trying to cover from 35 degrees to 137 degrees you will be just fine. A 24" actuator will cover almost all of the U.S. arc.
10' Tek C-band dish, 1.2 meter KU band dish, ASC1 mover, Octagon/Zgemma/Edison dual band STB's. Running OpenPli on all.

Thanks Arion,
I'm only interested in the arc from circa 127 - 58W, so that sounds great!

Our sponsors sell replacement motor housings for both the heavy duty and regular actuators.
Regular

Heavy Duty

Just unbolt the old and install the new housing. No need to spend hundreds of dollars on a new actuator.

If you do not already have one, I would also consider getting a weather boot for the actuator.
Rain and melting snow can run down inside the screwjack actuator and wash out lubricant and rust the actuator, I used to need to replace mine about every 7-10 years due to rust etc. but since I installed a protective boot my current actuator on my 10' BUD has lasted about 15 years and still running.
I'm sure the same sponsor tek2000 carries those also.
Good Luck!

All actuators, including boots, can be searched here

If you can't find something from our store menu on the left, just use the search function.
