Post by Africa TV » Tue Nov 10, 2020 10:06 pm

Can any forum members watch African tv on Eutelsat 8W? It should be possible according to lyngsat

I need to install a dish in NYC but need confirmation that it will work and dish size. Thanks!

I can't say for sure, but I would think all those transponders on that bird are pointed to the continent of Africa and Europe.Maybe someone on the east coast with a view of it can give it a try.I am to far inland to try.Good luck

That satellites (Global) C-Band footprint looks good in NY and both Lyngsat and Satbeams both indicate about a 7ft minimum dish so that means an 8 foot BUD.

That global C-Band has both FTA/Free and encrypted African channels, some in english.

You will also need a circular polarized C-Band LNB for that as it has LH and RH polarization (not Linear - V/H).
