The Weather Network HD (Canada)
This one is for Canadians. The Weather Network (similar to Weather Channel in USA) has launched an HD feed on Anik F1R (107° west). You can find at the following location: 107° west - 4100V - 28346 - DVB-S
It scans in as "testtesttest". If you have problems with the audio, manually edit the transponder so it uses the SD audio which is the same. The good thing about this feed is that it is a national feed and has all the graphics/data built in, unlike the regional SD feeds which require commercial equipment to overlay the data.
Just watching right now and it looks really coooooooooold up there in Canada. Someone turn on the defroster...

Re: The Weather Network HD (Canada)
Thank you,
For the information on this channel. Saw our first snow devil this morning and really enjoyed the programming. Very informative and well presented. Also there are a minimal amount of commercials which itself is awesome.
Looking forward to sunny days,

Re: The Weather Network HD (Canada)
Hello,
A few days ago, the sound on this wonderful channel "went away". I was getting ready to "manually edit" the transponder in satellites.xml, when I streamed this channel through a browser via the ZGemma's on board web page. The sound played just fine. Watching this channel off a recording also provides the missing audio. Easiest of all, watching this channel on a timeshift, after hitting the pause button also provides the audio. So I am going to leave the transponder code alone, as I am not sure where it is, having never manually edited a transponder. This is quite fascinating!
Enjoying this fine weather channel,

Re: The Weather Network HD (Canada)
Same here. On zgemma the audio comes and goes. On the edision the audio always works. Firmware issue?
You can manually edit the pids to fix the problem. Open dreamset, double-click on the channel and scroll down to "PIDs". Check the box for "Use Pids" to yes and then enter them (video = PCR = 512/audio=800) manually. While you are at it, change the channel name from testtesttest to something like Weather Channel Canada HD. Worked for me.

Re: The Weather Network HD (Canada)
Hello All,
The Weather Channel HD is back on 107W. The sound, however, is not. The transponder information is:
Frequency: 4100V
Symbol Rate: 28346
System: DVB-S and DVB-S2
When DVB-S2 is scanned, 16ASPK and 32ASPK scan successfully, while QSPK and 8SPK do NOT. I have been unable to get any audio data from this beautiful channel. Audio channels are "there" (AC3, AC3, AC3+) but the ZGemma H7 version 6.2 does not provide any sound output. Is anyone able to get audio for this awesome channel. Any information and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers and a beautiful day,

Re: The Weather Network HD (Canada)
I think there is a bug in the zgemma or unsupported audio for this one. Since the SD version is in the same mux, you can use the audio from that. They are the same. See my post above for the workaround.
Have they added the HD feed to 119 also? Since 107 is going adios soon..

I hope not. 107W is a great satellite. Does anyone know where the CTV transponder is going? Thank you for your reply. I will try again to modify the PID information using dream editor and report back.

It is true. They issued an End of Life Notice for AnikF1 recently.belter-one wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 7:48 pmReally?

I guess they will move content to AnikF2 or AnikF3?
