Adding OTA dongle to Enigma 2 Receiver to watch locals

Post by tvroadmin » Fri Apr 05, 2019 10:02 pm

If you own an Enigma 2 receiver without a built-in ATSC tuner (or want a 2nd tuner) you can still watch your locals by installing an ATSC USB dongle.

We recommend the Hauppauge 955Q dongle. You can purchase it directly from Hauppauge:

http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/products ... r955q.html

It only works with the latest image Openatv 6.3. It won't work with 6.2 or 6.1, so please flash your receiver with Openatv 6.3:

The last thing you need to do is download and install the following plugins:

atsc-955q-usb-hauppauge (1.0-r0)
atsc-usb-hauppauge (1.1-r0)

Reboot your receiver and it will detect your new ATSC dongle! :chaplin

Working...many thanks. :thankyousign:

If anyone is having trouble with their atsc tuner using other firmware images then check out this useful thread by el bandido and others posted at openatv.

I can also confirm the 955Q works with the Edision OS mio 4K which we hope to have in stock again soon.
