What happened to 119W?

Post by belter-one » Sun Oct 10, 2021 3:48 pm

Hello,

I was watching a program on 119W and the SNR went to 0.0 on all transponders except the Weather Network which is at ~6.44. So all the transponders are unable to broadcast. Has anyone else noticed this?

Wow,

10' Tek C-band dish, 1.2 meter KU band dish, ASC1 mover, Octagon/Zgemma/Edison dual band STB's. Running OpenPli on all.

Yep, Solar Fade happens for a few days every spring and fall as the sun tracks along the Satellite Arc as it crosses the sky. In the spring or fall when you lose a satellite in the daytime go outside and look through the back of your dish to the sky and see if its pointing at the Sun. Other satellites not in the direction of the sun should work normally.

Those are working fine. FYI, the satellite beam for 119w can be found here. Signal strength falls the further south and west you travel. Compare to the 107.3w footprint.

This was my strongest satellite by far . I am in New Brunswick Ca and when we scanned last the Other night the weather network and CTV were gone. I will recheck.
