0.0: Introduction

This tutorial explains how to flash the latest big dish Master Channel List to your ZGemma 4K satellite receiver. If you recently purchased such a receiver, it is likely already flashed with the latest listings. If you are just getting started with a big dish, we strongly recommend you start with our Master Channel List. It contains all the satellite transponders across North America (from 0.8°W to 139°W). Over 4000 programs (both scrambled and FTA) were scanned from nearly 40 satellites in the Clarke Belt region visible to North Americans. This includes over 600 FTA C-band TV channels, 150 FTA Ku-band TV channels and 350 FTA radio stations in both bands! This list will be kept up-to-date and found in this tutorial section.

0.3: Navigating the Master Channel Lists

To open the Master Channel List in your receiver, press the remote Up Arrow Key -> Blue Button (Favourites) and you will see the lists below.

listings_1.jpg

0.3.1: FTA Satellite TV (C-Band)

This list contains all the free-to-air (FTA) Satellite TV channels found on C-band. You can browse the list by using the up/down remote arrows. You can also page up/down by using the left/right arrows. For your reference, the list is divided by satellite orbital location and polarization (i.e. Linear or Circular).

0.3.2: FTA Satellite TV (Ku-Band)

This list contains all the free-to-air (FTA) Satellite TV channels found on Ku-band. You can browse the list by using the up/down remote arrows. You can also page up/down by using the left/right arrows. For your reference, the list is divided by satellite orbital location and polarization (i.e. Linear or Circular).

0.3.3: FTA Satellite Radio (C/Ku Band)

This list contains all (FTA) Satellite Radio programs found on both C and Ku-band.

listings_4.jpg

0.3.4: Terrestrial TV

This list contains your local, terrestrial TV stations. You need to scan your locals using the ATSC tuner and then copy them to this folder. You can learn how to do this by reading Tutorial 3 and Tutorial 6.

listings_6.jpg

0.3.5: Streaming TV

This list will contain any IPTV streaming channels that you may wish to add.

listings_5.jpg

0.3.6: Favourites TV

This is an empty list which you can use to add your favorite channels.

0.3.7: Last Scanned

This list will always contain the last transponder that you scanned into your receiver. You can use DreamSet Editor or the remote control to manually add a last scanned channel to another list. How to do this with the remote will be discussed next.

0.3.8: Reception Lists

To view all the satellite lists, you need to press Up Arrow Key -> Green Button (Reception Lists). You can scroll up/down this list and select any satellite to view all programs (both scrambled and FTA). You can periodically check these lists to see if a scrambled channel has gone ITC. If it has, you can move it to the appropriate FTA list by following the procedure outlined next.

0.4: Moving a Channel between Lists

Let's say you find an unscrambled TV channel in one of the transponder lists (reception lists) and want to move it to one of the FTA lists. To do this, first you need to highlight the channel like below:

Now click on the MENU button and select 5 add service to bouqet.

listings_12.jpg

Select the list where you want to add it. In this case, it is a C-band TV channel, so we select the FTA Satellite TV (C-Band) folder.

Next, if you open the FTA Satellite TV (C-Band) list and scroll to the bottom, you will see the channel you just added. Highlight it, press MENU and select 6 enable move mode.

You can now move this channel up/down the list and place it anywhere you like, presumably in the correct orbital location. When you are finished, press MENU and 6 disable move mode.

To rename a channel from any list, highlight it and press MENU and 2 rename entry and follow the instructions. Likewise, to delete a channel, highlight it and press MENU and 8 remove entry. Select yes to remove it from your list. The channel will still exist in its satellite list if you need it again.
