New Dish Package

Post by captjack » Tue Feb 24, 2015 8:42 am

Bought a dish package that came with Skybox f5s receiver. The receiver came with only eastern satellites preprogramed into it. I have added a few west satellites (galacy16, ses1) and have gotten channels, but not sure if I'm missing something in setting it up this way. Is there somewhere to download western sats or can someone give me a quick set for satellite? thanks

Here is the Skybox channel editor:

I think you just enter the channels you want yourself. Use lyngsat or the satellite info on this site to complete you list.

Other way is to just scan every bird, but you will get a lot of mirror channels, no-name channels, etc.

Why don't you just enter each sat manually.

I had same problem!

Do this. Do a hard reset of your Skybox receiver so everything gets wiped clean!

Then scan one satellite and save those settings. Upload the channels files to a memory stick and open in the editor. Now go ahead and edit. When you load it back to your receiver, it will take the new edits!

I think the file they posted here was for a different model and so you get a mismatch!

It may take you a few hours to add all the channels you want, but it is well worth it in my opinion because you end up with a nice clean EPG!
