Hispasat 30W-6 at 30.0°W HELP!

Post by Zap » Mon Dec 16, 2019 9:17 pm

Hi all,

Before I try to setup a fixed dish out in the cold weather I was hoping if someone with a motorized dish can confirm reception of Ku Hispasat 30W-6 at 30.0°W

American beam
12132 V
DVB-S2
28800-2/3
8PSK

This is the mux https://www.lyngsat.com/Hispasat-30W-6.html

I'm in Toronto (Mississauga) but anyone on the east coast should be able to get this. Thanks for your help ! Merry Xmas!

Yes, there for me. What are you interested in, the Imam channel? :hehehe: Lots of Arabic channels on this satellite for sure.

Thanks fatso for verifying the signal.

Actually I just need it to locate the satellite. I have a VSAT system that I will be setting up to use that satellite to communicate over. It will go Hispasat 30W-6 to a HUB and gateway located in Bogota Columbia.

I am having trouble receiving Hipasat 30W Ku band in Connecticut. I have a 42 in oval motorized dish. Does anyone know if it is possible to receive Ku transponders on Hipasat 30W in the northeast with a small dish?

In Connecticut, the footprint is supposed to be as strong as in Toronto: about 46 dBW EIRP according to lyngsat. Supposedly that requires a 75- to 95-cm dish. I know in Toronto I could receive it easily on a 1.2m dish. I know others there that could receive it on a smaller dish. You must be tuning to a transponder with the Americas beam. In eastern Nova Scotia, there is no signal so I cannot receive it.
